Small Claims

Small Claims Court

The Ontario Small Claims Court is a branch of the Superior Court of Justice that hears civil claims valued at $35,000 or less. Designed to be more accessible and cost-effective than higher courts, the Small Claims Court operates under streamlined procedures set out in the Rules of the Small Claims Court. These rules promote efficiency, allowing matters to be resolved more quickly and at a lower cost than proceedings in the Superior Court of Justice.
